"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
My nanny sweetie's 4th grade social studies assignment: (1) Read the First Amendment to the United States Constitution (typed on the worksheet); (2) On the lines provided, write examples of how you {and your 10 year-old self} witness this in your everyday life.
Social Studies was by far my favorite subject in school (outside of my art courses). I'm dying inside as I have to assist my nanny children with diagramming sentences. Ugh. Do you know how long it took us to just break down the First Amendment into 4th grade appropriate vocabulary words/definitions and reflections?? Awhile! :)
